What Is Landing Page Experience?
Landing page experience is Google's estimate of how relevant and useful your landing page is to the people who click your ad. It is one of the three parts of Quality Score, along with expected click-through rate and ad relevance. Google rates it as above average, average or below average for each keyword.
Google's Definition
"A measure that Google Ads uses to estimate how relevant and useful your website's landing page will be to people who click your ad."

What Google Looks At
Google looks at whether your page delivers what your ad promised. That comes down to a few things you control.
- Relevance: The page talks about the exact service or product in the ad.
- Clarity: People can see what you offer and how to contact you right away.
- Speed and mobile use: The page loads quickly and works well on a phone.
- Trust: Your business details, reviews and policies are easy to find.
Landing Page Experience Example
Example
A dentist runs ads for "dental implants" that send people to the homepage. Landing page experience shows below average, and 3% of clicks become consultation requests. The dentist builds a dedicated implants page with pricing information and a short form. Over the next month, landing page experience moves to average and the conversion rate climbs to 7%.
Why It Matters
- It affects Quality Score: A below average rating drags down the score for that keyword.
- It affects your costs: Lower quality usually means paying more for the same position.
- It affects your leads: The same page changes that Google rewards also turn more clicks into customers.
How to Improve It
- Build dedicated pages. Give each major service its own landing page instead of using the homepage.
- Match the ad's headline. Repeat the promise from your ad near the top of the page.
- Speed up the page. Compress images and remove heavy scripts that slow mobile load times.
- Make contacting you easy. Put the phone number and a short form above the fold.
