Google Ads Introduces Real-Time Policy Reviews for Ad Campaigns

Google Ads has unveiled a new feature aimed at streamlining the ad review and approval process. Dubbed "Real-Time Policy Reviews", the feature offers immediate feedback during the creation of Responsive Search Ads and is set to expand to additional campaign types later this year.

Faster Feedback During Ad Creation

The Real-Time Policy Reviews system works by integrating ad policy checks directly into the creative workflow. As users draft their ad headlines and descriptions, the system performs instant, per-field checks to flag potential editorial issues. Common errors, such as typos or improper capitalization, can be identified and corrected before users save their work.

Once the ad is saved, the feature delivers an immediate policy decision. If no policy violations are detected, the ad is approved and can begin serving right away. For ads that do not meet policy requirements, users are notified via a "post-save policy page", which outlines the issues that need to be addressed.

Highlighting the efficiency of this new approach, Google stated, "This shift allows policy-compliant ads to bypass traditional wait times and begin serving almost immediately. After the launch of Real-Time Reviews, review times of over an hour are now typically happening in real-time, giving you the speed and confidence to launch your campaigns at the moment of intent."

Future Rollout Plans

Currently, Real-Time Policy Reviews are available for text assets within Responsive Search Ads across Google Ads’ user interface and Google Ads Editor. Google has announced plans to extend coverage to Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns during the second half of 2026.

In a blog post, Google reiterated the significance of this innovation, saying, "We are evolving the ad review experience to be more integrated and faster than ever before. Real-Time Policy Reviews bring the review process directly in your creative workflow, providing instant feedback as you build and save your ads."

By reducing the time required for ad reviews and enabling quick fixes to policy issues, this feature aims to offer advertisers greater flexibility and efficiency when launching campaigns.

Conclusion

Google Ads' introduction of Real-Time Policy Reviews marks a significant step forward in simplifying the ad creation and approval process. With immediate feedback and real-time approvals, advertisers can now save time and focus on launching campaigns without unnecessary delays. The upcoming expansion to other campaign types further highlights Google's commitment to improving the user experience for advertisers.
